In a shock announcement by ANCAP and their European sibling EuroNCAP, the Ford Mustang (GT Fastback) has been given a 2 star safety rating.
According to ANCAP, the Mustang lost stars due to its lack of advanced safety features like city braking and lane keep assist. Further, safety officials said the airbags did not inflate correctly and may not have correctly protected the occupants.
Some of these issues will be addressed in a 2018 model facelift – which when retested by EuroNCAP I predict could receive up to a 4 star rating.
