Earlier this week, a camoflaged performance version of the new Holden Commodore/Opel Insignia was spotted testing at the Nurburgring.
The prototype spied was a regular 2018 LHD Insignia with a bunch of sporty changes – new side skirts, more aggressive intakes, new bumpers, larger black alloys and a clearly lowered body. The car was filmed going around the track by an car spotter – in the video, it seems that the car is packing the 2.0L turbocharged 4 cylinder petrol currently available in the European version that producing 191kW of power and 400Nm of torque. With a bit of Opel OPC/HSV tuning and upgrades, the car could produce figures most likely around 220kW and 480Nm. In Australia, if HSV offered a tuned version of the 230kW V6 available in the regular A Commodore it could produce upwards of 300kW and 430Nm.
Not much is known about this new hotted up Insignia/Commodore – I expect it will debut later in the year closer toward the NG Commodore’s official launch. What do you guys think? I LOVE this new Commodore/Insignia and would adore a performance version. Let me know down below!
