Over the weekend, reports surfaced that Porsche was preparing a new package for their upcoming 2017 911 GT3 (991.2 generation) – the ‘X90 Touring Package’.
According to UK magazine Car, the X90 Touring Package will come with the discreet aero package seen on the 911 R – without the extravagant spoiler, splitter, diffuser and and other racey parts. It also comes with the comfort features, and will have ‘leather and corduroy’ trim. However, one of the headline features is that it’ll be available in a MANUAL TRANSMISSION ONLY.
This report makes sense – last month, US publication Road and Track spied a spoiler-less GT3 prototype in California in a hotel car park. In addition, a forum user spotted an option for a Touring Package in the code of a German 911 GT3 configurator.
What do you think of this rumour? I’m a big fan of the 911 GT3 and R, and would love a Touring Package. Let me know down below!
