This evening, Holden officially announced the Astra Sportwagon.
The Astra Sportwagon is a longer, wagon version of the regular Astra hatch. Under the bonnet is the same 1.4L, 110kW turbo-4 seen under the bonnet of the sedan and hatch, paired to a six speed automatic transmission. And as expected, the Astra Sportwagon comes with more total boot space – lots more, 1600L to be exact. In addition, the Sportwagon features an electric tailgate and ‘clever design solutions’ to make living with it a little easier.
The Sportwagon will be built in Vauxhall’s Ellesmere Port factory in the U.K., but like other European sources models it will receive in depth local suspension tuning before its late 2017 launch. Further, the Astra Sportwagon will come with a reversing camera, autonomous emergency braking, lane keep assist and forward collision alert, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, keyless entry and keyless start, with the last 3 being confirmed as standard equipment.
I can’t wait for the Astra Sportwagon’s launch later this year. What about you guys? Let me know down below!
