This morning, the Volkswagen ID Buzz has been officially confirmed for production. For those who don’t know, the ID Buzz is an electric concept car shown at this year’s Detroit Motor Show that is meant to be the spiritual successor to the iconic Type 2 Kombi – it is based on the MEB platform and has 275kW, seating for 8 and a range of 600km.
When speaking to AutoExpress, Volkswagen chief Herbert Diess said that: “Emotional cars are very important for the brand. We will have the Microbus that we showed, which we recently decided we will build.” When asked earlier this year, the VW chief designer also hinted at new variants: “Some family members, like the pickup, the camper, the Samba, so I think there are a lot of possibilities with this car.”
This news is really awesome – I can’t wait for the ID Buzz when it goes on sale in around 2020. What do you guys think? Let me know down below!
