Today, the latest-generation Suzuki Swift Sport was unveiled ahead of its full debut at the Frankfurt auto show in September.
The Swift Sport has a new front fascia with a meaner and considerably larger grille – it personally reminds me of Audi's latest generation TT RS. The Sport also receives new and sticker tyres, alloy wheels, lowered sports suspension, a black front lip, rear bumper redesign and black skirts. Nothing is known about the powertrain of the Swift Sport, but it is rumoured to feature a 1.4L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine from the Vitara crossover, which in that application produces 103kW of power and 220Nm of torque – that's around 20% more power than the most powerful traditional Swift. In comparison to many similarly sized hot hatches (like the 150kW Ford Fiesta ST) it may not seem like much, but just consider the Swift Sport is expected to weigh just 870kg – that's a superb power to weight ratio.
The new Suzuki Swift Sport will be fully detailed on September 12th EU time, and expect a full rundown with up close pictures from the Frankfurt motor show! What do you think if it? Let me know down below!
