Today, photos surfaced on Instagram of the upcoming 992-generation Porsche 911 ahead of its reveal later this year.
The single image, taken inside Porsche’s Gersthofen showroom/centre, shows the rear end of a 992. The car looks considerably different from the current 991 – the taillights now run in one long strip across the rear like the new Cayenne and Panamera, the Porsche logo has been moved further up the body, and the lower bumper bears an all new design.
However, that’s not all – if you look in the top of the photo you can see two mirrors mounted to the wall, which provide a handy reflection of the front of the car. It’s pretty hard to spot the frontal differences with such a small image, but it appears to be very similar to the current 991 – to my eyes, it also shares resemblance to a 718 Cayman/Boxster with a black SportDesign package fitted.
Sadly, this car won’t be revealed at next month’s Geneva motor show – instead, it is believed to be unveiled at the Paris motor show in September. What do you think of the new 911 992? Let me know down below!
