Ford has taken the wraps off the updated 2019 Mustang Shelby GT350.
The main changes over the 2019 model are aerodynamic – these include a new rear spoiler with optional gurney flap and sticky Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres with custom Shelby-specific tread. The chassis and ABS systems have also been retuned to improve grip.
Inside, there’s new aluminium interior trim, ‘Miko’ suede door inserts and seat upholstery and an optional 12-speaker B&O sound system. Ford’s Sync 3 infotainment system is now standard fit, which includes SiriusXM satellite radio and FordPass Connect services. Dual-zone climate control is also standard.
The 2019 GT350 gets a new paint colour, Velocity Blue, as well as a new 19-inch wheel design similar to that of the Mustang GT Performance Package Level 2.
Apart from those additions, the 2019 GT350 is identical from the 2018 model – meaning it doesn’t get any of the sharper styling elements of the refreshed 2018 Mustang like the headlights, taillights and bumpers.
The engine is still the same 5.2-litre naturally aspirated, flat-plane crank V8 as the 2018 – it produces 392kW of power and 582Nm of torque, sent to the rear wheels though a 6-speed Tremec manual transmission.
The 2019 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 goes on sale exclusively in North America in early 2019.
