Local pricing and specifications have been announced for the upcoming 2018 Audi A8 ahead of its launch in July.
Two body styles will be available: the regular A8 and the 130mm-longer, long wheelbase A8L.
Each body style will be available with a choice of two powertrains: the 50 TDI quattro, powered by a 3.0-litre turbo diesel V6 producing 210kW of power and 600Nm of torque, and the 55 TFSI quattro, powered by a 3.0-litre turbo petrol V6 producing 250kW of power and 500Nm of torque. Both powertrains are mounted to an 8-speed tiptronic automatic transmissions and Audi’s signature quattro all-wheel-drive system.
Full specification details haven’t been announced yet, but Audi claims the new A8 packs up to $36,000 of extra kit over its predecessor (depending on trim).
However, we do know that all variants will come with adaptive air suspension, adaptive steering, matrix LED headlights, panoramic glass sunroof, MMI Navigation plus, Audi’s Virtual Cockpit digital instrument cluster, a 730-watt, 17-speaker Bang & Olufsen 3D sound system, remorely controlled rear seats and a full suite of safety kit including adaptive cruise control, 360-degree camera, lane-keep assist, front and rear autonomous emergency braking, collision avoidance assist and a head-up display.
