Prepare your wallet, because Ford has announced pricing and specs for the special edition Mustang Bullitt.
Limited to just 700 units, the Mustang Bullitt will start at $73,688 plus on-road costs. Standard equipment includes all of the Bullitt-specific styling cues, MagneRide adaptive suspension, Bullitt interior trim, spherical gear shift knob, green decorative stitching. This is in addition to the standard equipment found on the GT, which includes an 8.0-inch Sync 3 infotainment display, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a 12-inch digital instrument cluster, autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, auto levelling headlights with auto high-beam.
As its name suggests, the Bullitt is inspired by the green Mustang Fastback featured in the 1968 movie Bullitt. It features a black grille, chrome accents, Bullitt badging, 19-inch 5-spoke ‘Torque Thrust’ wheels and red Brembo brakes. Check out my reveal story for further details.
Under the hood of the Bullitt is the 5.0-litre, naturally aspirated ‘Coyote’ V8 used by regular Mustang GTs. It has seen a performance bump over the GT, now producing 345kW of power and 556Nm of torque – up 6kW. This is thanks to a new intake manifold, 87mm throttle bodies, Ford Racing air filter and the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) from the Shelby GT350. All Bullitts are paired exclusively to a 6-speed manual transmission with rev-matching.
The 2019 Ford Mustang Bullitt lands in Australia in October, in line with the original film’s 50th anniversary.
