SsangYong has announced pricing and specifications for its new Musso dual-cab ute ahead of the brand’s local re-launch in November.
The Musso will be offered in three variants, EX, ELX and Ultimate. All models launching in November will be sold with a short bed with coil spring suspension – a long bed version with leaf springs will arrive in 2019.
All Musso variants use the same powertrain, a 2.2-litre turbocharged four-cylinder diesel producing 133kW of power and 400Nm of torque. Four-wheel drive is standard, and six-speed manuals and automatics are offered depending on the trim level.
Opening the range is the EX, priced from $30,490 drive-away for the six-speed manual. Standard equipment includes autonomous emergency braking – one of only two utes to offer it standard across the range – forward collision warning, a touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth, fabric seat upholstery, a limited-slip differential and a full-size spare wheel. A six-speed automatic transmission can be optioned for an additional $2000.
Stepping up to the ELX commands a $3500 price increase over the EX, at $35,990 drive-away. In addition to the base model’s kit, you get 18-inch alloy wheels, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert and lane change assist.
At the top of the range is the Ultimate, priced from $39,990 drive-away. On top of the ELX, you get 20-inch alloys, heated and ventilated leather seats, a 360-degree camera and a sunroof.
The 2019 SsangYong Musso goes on sale in November.
