The upcoming Mark 8 Volkswagen Golf has been spied completely undisguised.
In photos captured by a Carscoops reader, a prototype variant of Wolfsburg’s upcoming family hatch was seen in a drive-thru at a German McDonalds outlet.
Visually, it appears that Volkswagen have taken an evolutionary step with the Mk8’s styling. It blends the overall style of the current Mk7.5 with the creases and bold lines from the Polo, along with a number of elements (e.g. tail-lights) from other Volkswagen models such as the T-Roc SUV.
VW has previously confirmed that the new Golf will go into production in June this year, based on an updated version of the current car’s platform, with a longer wheelbase, all-new interior and semi-autonomous capabilities. GTI and R performance variants will follow later on, with the former reportedly boasting 300 horsepower (221kW).
