Local pricing and specs have been announced for the Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe, which has a surprise appearance at the 2019 Bathurst 12 Hour endurance race.
Two variants will be offered locally, the GT 53 and GT 63 S.
The former will open the new range, priced from $249,900 plus on-road costs. It is powered by a 3.0-litre turbocharged inline-six, which sends 320kW and 520Nm to all wheels through a nine-speed auto. A standard 48V ‘EQ Boost’ hybrid system can provide 16kW and 250Nm when needed.
Standard equipment on the 53 includes 20-inch alloy wheels, AMG Ride Control+ air suspension, Nappa leather trim, heated and ventilated front seats, an array of driver assistance technologies, dual digital touchscreens and adaptive LED headlights.
Sitting atop the range is the GT 63 S, priced from $349,900 plus on-roads. It’s powered by a 470kW/900Nm 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8, sent to all wheels through a nine-speed auto. Over the GT53, the 63S gets 21-inch forged alloy wheels, dynamic engine mounts, carbon fibre interior trim, heated rear seats and power doors.
The 2019 Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe goes on sale in June.
