Nissan has unveiled the 2020 Versa at a music festival in Florida..
The third-generation subcompact sedan sports a bold new look. Up front, there’s a shruken version of the Japanese brand’s V-Motion grille, flanked by headlights with in-built LED DRLs. Around the rear, there’s a black-accented C-pillar, along with chevron-shaped taillights and a sporty lower diffuser.
Inside, the Versa gets an all-new cabin. The dashboard is dominated by 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while in front of the driver there’s a part-digital instrument cluster and an overall layout borrowed from the Kicks SUV. Other features include automatic climate control, heated seats and keyless entry.
Safety wise, the new sedan gets access to Nissan’s full Safety Shield 360 safety suite, which includes autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, driver attention monitoring, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning and high-beam assist.
Powering the 2020 Versa is the 1.6-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder from the Kicks, which produces 91kW if power and 152Nm of torque. Drive is sent to the front wheels through either a five-speed manual or a CVT automatic.
The new Nissan Versa goes on sale in North America later this year, following a debut at the New York auto show next week.
